Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity(Academic Honorary) is a national professional fraternity for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine and sports management.
Mission Statement
We are dedicated to the enhancement of the education of students in the fields of physical education and health. We promote student research, charitable purposes, community service, as well as provide opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and the fraternal loyalty and spirit among members throughout the country.
History
Phi Epsilon Kappa (PEK) was founded in 1913 at the Normal College of the American Gymnastics Union in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1920, the fraternity went national with its second chapter at the American College of Physical Education in Chicago, Since then, Phi Epsilon Kappa has installed over 100 collegiate chapters nationally. It was not until 1975 that PEK was open to women members.
